my thoughts :
try to put urself in the shoes of Vincent, u'll definitely believe and support the benefits of the Human Genome Project...
be in the shoes of Anton, perhaps u'll take ur perfect health for granted.....
wat about in the shoes of their parents, rest assure u'll wan a perfect child to carry on ur generation, able to take care of u when u'r old....
so wat's Gattaca trying to image?
iszit to tell us tat with such high technology cum DNA discovery, u can go ahead to commit fraud...and escape scot-free just like Vincent?
or iszit to show us the power of DNA, the outcome of HGP and how the study of DNA benefits mankind.....
Well...not to deny tat above were some of the facts that the movie, Gattaca, could have portrayed ... but wat i saw as most influential was Vincent's determination to get into Gattaca....
n to space finally... overcomin his congenital heart conditions that made this even more challengin...
i think this was a fabulous movie n i realli enjoyed it.....though discrimination against imperfect genes will be unavoidable n so serious when we talk about ethic issues based on this HGP....hopefully tat the HGP will greatly benefit ppl like Vincent in time ...
n tat i'll be convinced that the new technology by HGP or simply the study of DNA will bring us closer to a perfect world...
